"Different by design. Disruptive by choice" - with these words the leading Brazilian jet manufacturer presented its new midsize  and super-midsize executive jets.

Praetor 500 and Praetor 600, first introduced in late 2018, are advanced versions of Embraer`s popular models - Legacy 450 and Legacy 500 accordingly.

As stated by the manufacturer, the midsize Praetor 500`s range is 300 miles farther than of the initial model.

The jet can cover around 3,700 miles which allows its owner or charterer to travel the broadest transcontinental ranges non-stop, as well as from Europe to California with only 1 fuel stop - a non-typical transatlantic experience for this aircraft type.

As for its super-midsize brother, Praetor 600, it flies approximately 900 miles farther than its predecessor.

The total range is almost 4,500 miles, which makes this jet a rightful intercontinental model, first in its class. From Biggin Hill to JFK or from Florida straight to Brazil - these are common non-stop routes for this truly competitive category-linking business aircraft.

Such parameters are possible due to extra fuel capacity and aerodynamically efficient winglets.

The Praetor jets can fit 7-9 passengers and 8-12 passengers respectively. Both can boast 6-foot-tall flat-floor cabins which are conveniently furnished: tables are retractable and seats can be transformed into a bed.

Technology-wise it`s worth mentioning that the aircraft are powered by Honeywell HTF 7500E turbofan engines.

Apart from having the best-in-class speed and range the Praetor models are true quintessence of both comfort and elegance.

The latter is confirmed by the new Bossa Nova design, for the first time introduced by the Brazilians.

Jay Beever, Embraer's vice president for interior design, together with his team, created this design option genuinely inspired by the vibes of Brazilian beaches.

This is how he described the cabin`s silk and wool carpets: "an abstract interpretation of the glowing light reflecting off the ripples in the ocean on a perfectly calm day".

The jets owe its name to praetors, ancient Roman high-rank judicial officers who had broad governmental authorities in the absence of consuls.

Interestingly, it was decided to completely change the aircraft name, as Legacy models initially derived from commercial ones. However, the respective Legacy 500 and 600 business jets still remain available for customers.

Michael Amalfitano, president and CEO of Embraer Executive Jets, gave the following comment on the novelty:

"The Praetor 500 and Praetor 600 are the disruptive aircraft for the entrepreneur, for the pioneer, for the innovator". And the term "disruptive" is again notable.

Price-wise, Embraer Praetor 500 is estimated for $16,995,000 and above, as for Praetor 600 - its minimal cost is $20,995,000.

The Bossa Nova design can be ordered additionally for $750,000.
