Business jet aircraft (private/corporate/executive jets or simply bizjets) as we know them now appeared in the aviation industry at the end of 1950s - beginning of 1960s.

Among the main privileges of these vehicles one can undoubtedly mention, first of all, considerable time-saving - the most valuable resource nowadays, especially for those whose every minute is planned out for months if not years ahead.

Direct flights with no waiting time and general independence contribute to flexible individual schedule with any unexpected changes and a possibility to work and even negotiate on-board - in most quiet and favourable atmosphere.

Additionally business jet travelling gives you the prerogative to land and take off at regional airports without unnecessary stops.

There are 5 main categories/classes of business jets:

Very Light Jets (or VLJ) - 4-6 passengers, 1000-mile range.

The smallest jets with the possibility to access small community airports with shorter runway landings, which gives extra travel flexibility.

Among the examples: Citation Mustang (Cessna); Cirrus Vision SF50 (Cirrus Design); Phenom 100 (Embraer); Comp Air Jet (Comp Air); D-Jet (Diamond Aircraft Industries).

Light Jets - 5-6 passengers seated with comfort, approx. 1500-mile range non-stop.

These jets can access smaller, less busy airports, land on shorter runways and fly at high speeds - a popular option among bizjets.

Among the examples: Phenom 300 (Embraer); Falcon 10 (Dassault Aviation); Learjet 40 XR, 45XR and 70/75 (Bombardier); Hawker 400 (Hawker Beechcraft); Citation CJ1-CJ4, Bravo, and Encore (Cessna).
